Jessie Cobbs Jr., 79, of Robinson, passed away Aug. 20, 2008, at his home. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home Chapel, in Mexia, with Dr. Jimmy Dorrell of Waco, and Rev. Gaylon Henry, of Ft. Worth, officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at the funeral home.

Jessie was born in Groesbeck, Texas, to the late Jessie Boyce and Alice Sandifer Cobbs. He graduated from Groesbeck High School and served in the U. S. Air Force, the majority of that time in Panama. After technical school, he became a self employed businessman in retail, wholesale, and real estate developing. He was married to May Beth Masters, of Mexia, for 53 years, and they lived in Waco for 45 years, before recently moving to Robinson.

Survivors include his wife, May Beth, of Robinson; son, Terry Cobbs, of Austin; daughter, Cindy Dillaman and husband, Gordon, of The Woodlands; grandchildren, Andrea Cobbs, of Austin, Bruce Cobbs, of Belton, Ashlee Dillaman, of Waco, and Dustin Dillaman and wife, Kelly, of Weatherford; great-grandchildren, Addison Dillaman and Reid Dillaman; brother, Billy Jim Cobbs and wife, Linda, of Robinson; sister, Ione Roberts and husband, John, of Groesbeck; and many other family members and friends.

Mr. Hutter was from Easton,
Pennsylvania, was a graduate
of the Naval Academy at Annapolis, and a brother of Major
Hutter, then paymaster of
the United States army. They had seven children, three sons and
four daughters:
Imogene, William Cobbs, George E., Christian Sextus, Nannie,
Charlotte. Imogene
Hutter died in girlhood.

9 Wm. Cobbs Hutter, born 1842, entered the naval academy, from
which he resigned in
1861 to take part in the war between the States. He was killed
in the naval engagement
in Hampton Roads, March, 1862. He never married.

9 George E. Hutter, born 1852, is unmarried. He graduated from
the naval academy
and was for some time lieutenant in the United States navy, but
was incapacitated for
duty from injuries received on a man of war.

9 Christian Sextus Hutter, was born 1862, and in 1886 married
Miss Ernistine,
daughter of Mr. James M. Booker of Lynchburg, Virginia. He
resides at the old
homestead, "Poplar Forest," and is engaged in business in
Lynchburg.

9 Nannie Hutter married a lawyer named Griffin of Bedford City.

9 Emma Cobbs Hutter married a gentleman named Logwood and
resides in St. Louis,
Missouri.

9 Charlotte S. Hutter married her first cousin, Major J. Risger
Hutter. They reside at the
old Hutter homestead near Lynchburg, Virginia.
