Obituary: Mrs. Nellie Ashby Dies at Onton.
Mrs. Nellie Jane Ashby, 75, died at 1:05 p.m. Friday at the home of a son, D.W. Ashby, in Onton. Surviving besides the son are another son, Austin, of Henderson; four grandchildren; one step-grandchild; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Effie Head of Hopkinsville; and a brother, Jess Cobb of Slaughters. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Sassafras Grove Church, with the Rev. James Thurmond and the Rev. L.I. Chandler officiating. Burial was in Sassafras Grove cemetery.

At that time, Nancy and her second husband W.R. Davis were surrounded by the family of her son Jackson Kenzie Cobb and his children. Nancy's widowed daughter Lockey Revis was also living in the household.
