The Abiel Kolb in the Darlington/Marlboro area was killed in the Rev. War....I cannot find any link to my Abiel Cobb, but have found that this Abiel Kolb was probably a descendant of the Casper Kolb who came into Charleston much earlier than my Abiel Cobb left NC. I do believe my Abiel may have been the father to many of the Pendleton/Greenville Cobbs unaccounted for. I believe due to his dying at such an old age (document states he was extremely old in 1815) that he might well have out lived many of his children. I think he might have remarried after Sarah Van Winkle died and could well have fathered an age variety of children. I believe Lewis might have been his youngest son or he was the last of the siblings living when Abiel deeded him his estate.
As for Humphrey, I'm afraid I know very little about him.
According to David's pension affidavit he married in 1782 in VA...does not mention if this was Mehitable or not, but I think it was. However, this could have been WV...even though he was living in NC, he still owned land in WV.
As far as Lewis Cobb, he removed from Pendleton about 1815 to 1820. Abiel apparently feeble had Lewis in his household for a time before deeding it all to him. I don't believe Lewis left SC before 1815. I have found a Lewis Cobb in Tennessee whom I think is the same due to families around him. I am trying to find something more on him...so far nothing.
Like I said before there has not been any death date given for Mehitable, that is the reason I think the Mehitable in the cemetery was the daughter. This daughter never married and lived with her brother, Micajah after David died. Seems she would have been buried in the same cemetery as her siblings and father since she was in Franklin until 1870s. I feel that the reason Mehitable disappeared from the SC census was due to death. I think the female
in the same age range as David in the 1830 Franklin Co., GA census was another
woman by the name of Agnes Jones. (this woman might have been a widow, so I am not sure if this was her birth name.

Subject: Methitable Cobb
My original question was, does anyone have any info on Methitable Cobb that would let me develop a line on her relations on the Cobb side before and after her?? You ask about children of her and David Carter, SR. David Carter, Sr. was born Feb. 20, 1751/52 in East Orange, New Jersey. Methitable Cobb was born March 12, 1756 and I don't know anything else about her, except that they are buried in Franklin and Hart Co., GA. Their children were, Micajah Carter-B. 5/30/1787 in SC, Mehitable Carter-B. 9/8/1784 in SC, David Lewis Carter, Jr.- B. 1/15/1795 in SC. I am related to David, Jr.. He married Lavinia York and their children were Lararcus, Sarah Elizabeth, James Madison, Mary Rhoda, David Louis, Riller Harriett, Elias Earle, Micajah K., William Balus, John K., Elizabeth Ann Caroline, Amanda (Jane?) B., and Levina. A total of 13 children. Next I am related to James Madison Carter who married Nancy Mason and had three children, Jane, Mary (Martha) Lavinia, and Rhoda. Mary Lavinia Carter was my G-Grandmother and married Benjamin Beck Bonner. They had seven children, Laura Anmora, Frances Lillian, Benjamin, James, Pearl Anna*, Julia Ellen, and Mary Alice (Mollie). My grandmother was Julia Ellen Bonner and she married Harry Eugene Cobb who was from the Iowa line that I mentioned earlier.
*My aunt Pearl was the one that married Henry Groten Teague whose parents were John Teague and Mary Polly Anderson and he was born in Marysville, MO. on Dec. 26, 1854.
