Obituary of Commodore Morris Cobb
"The Stanberry Headlight" Nov 25, 1971

Mr. Cobb, son of the late Henry Clay Cobb and Arminta Paralea Boatright Cobb, was born Jan 15, 1880, on a farm near Darlington. He and the former Miss Lucinda S. Shepherd, were united in marriage Dec 31, 1899. To this union were born a daughter and two sons.
Mr. Cobb and the former Mrs. Flora Belle Cogdill, were married in March 1926. She preceded him in death on June 22, 1963. Mr. Cobb was a member of the former Long Branch Church.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the First Christian Church here for Commodore Morris Cobb, 91, a longtime resident in the Stanberry & Darlington area, who was taken by death last Wednesday evening at the St. Francis Hospital in Maryville. He had been a resident for some time at the Parkdale Manaor in Maryville.
The rites were conducted by the Rev. Russell Evans and the internment was in High Ridge cemetery, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Mr. Cobb, a retired farmer, is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Wilma Marx, St. Joseph; a son, Clifford Cobb of Sacramento, CA; a step-son, Clarence Cogdill of Stanberry; seven grandchildren & 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by another son, Cyrenius Cobb.
