Benjamin utterly disappeared after the 1870 census, but he apparently lived until at least 1897. However he was deceased by 1900. The 1900 census enumeration for his father's household is the reference.
The 1900 census for the household of Benjamin Sr. in Lewis County, Kentucky, shows a female Fannie, born November 1874 in Kentucky. She is listed as a daughter of Benjamin Sr., and the overall listing of the household certainly makes it appear that way. However, there is also a child in the household named Lillie M. Cobb, born June 1897, listed as a granddaughter.
Lillie Cobb is found again on the 1910 census of Mason County, Kentucky, in the household of Bruce B. Cox. She is listed as his step-daughter, indicating she was the child of Mrs. Cox and was the product of a previous marriage. The wife in that household was named Fannie, born about 1875 in Kentucky ... in other words, a perfect match for the Fannie found in the household of Benjamin Cobb Sr. in 1900. Therefore, Lillie was Fannie's daughter by a Cobb husband. This proves Fannie was actually a daughter-in-law of Benjamin Cobb Sr. And by process of elimination, Fannie's husband could only have been Benjamin Cobb Jr.
[732] This based on the fact he was not listed with his wife and children on the 1900 census of Lewis County, Kentucky.

This is a collection from many sources and cousins, I'm sure there are errors and appreciate any additions or corrections you might have. However if it is a dead end line, that is probably all I have on that particular family. Maggi
